Tulum and Playa Del Carmen Photo Diary

December 1, 2016

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures! Gosh I was all touristy as heck during my trip to Cancun/Playa del Carmen/Tulum. I am sooooo glad I took a week of work to just chill, work on my tan, and eat!

I can honestly say that my favorite place to visit was Tulum; it is so small, laid-back, yet there are soooo many different things you can do. A must; visiting "El Gran Cenote" in Tulum. Taking a swim in crystal-clear water and swimming with little fishies was amazing! We paid about $20 for admission tickets, a locker, and scuba diving gear!

Tulum also had some great restaurants; and with the current exchange rate of $1 USD being equivalent to about $20.00 pesos we pretty much spent an average of $15 per meal, tip INCLUDED.

The cleanest beaches can be found in Tulum, hands down. I got so many amazing photos out there and the beach outside Coco Tulum Hotel was on point. The Hotel's aesthetics worked in my favor, and I took dozens of shots.

After our stay in Tulum we headed to Playa del Carmen and stayed at Le Reve Hotel. I loved that the hotel was away from the heart of the city; you could enjoy the beach and serenity while you remain about 15 minutes away from the heart of the city.

The Heart of the City: 5ta Avenida, or 5th Avenue. Here, you will find souvenir shops, restaurants, dessert shops and all of your favorite stores such as H&M and Forever 21. My fave stores had to be Pull and Bear and Bershka; these are owned by Zara and are only available in Europe + Latin America. On our last day we spent about $300 in clothing, we bought bomber jackets for about $30, denim jackets with patches for $34, and tees for about $7!

I'd recommend to travel out to Mexico and use a credit card with NO foreign transaction fees. These credit card companies will usually convert your money at a higher rate, meaning your dollars are worth more versus exchanging Dollars for Pesos. I have the Amex Rewards Gold Card, and they converted $1 to about $20.50 pesos...INSANE!

Check out some of my favorite pics from this trip, definitely there were more photos that didn't make the cut, so these are my faves!
